An angel had fallen from heaven one night.
Her wing had been broken, impossible flight.
I witnessed this angel falling to earth
I ran and I ran for all I was worth.
I threw myself towards her, to cushion the blow.
But I could not catch her, for I was too slow.
so gently I cradled her close to my heart
and cursing my weakness for failing my part.
Her voice but a whisper, her eyes filled with love.
She beckoned me look to the heavens above.
"I am an angel, I cannot die. But you, fearless mortal, to save me did try. Heaven now knows you
and whats in your heart, for you are an angel and you did do your part."
