This is probably the first photo of a Curtis Electric Car Controller (120V) that has been shown open. more...We got it open, using a dry technique, without having to use the water-opening method, which would have wet the components some more. If an electric car (or any other electric vehicle) has jumpy starts, or is otherwise behaving oddly some of the FETs in the controller are likely burned, which is what happened to this Curtis Controller. The cost of a new one is around $1,500 whereas FETs can be replaced, and the controller used again. Contact us IF YOU NEED HELP or service. IMHO, the Curtis Controller is the Achilles Heel of the Electric Vehicle. The good news is it can be ruggedized easily, if you know how. .
