Hi Reg, finally got around to thinking on this, tho I am not an expert of course. But links at the end give plenty of information.

Economy - Generally the SW Peninsula gets poor attention and funding from government.

Jobs - Farming, Dartmoor National Park Authority, small businesses and tourism.

Taxes - No special tax schemes that I'm aware of just because you live within the area.
