Its an island that can only be reached by boat or across a causeway at low tide,it has a 17th century castle on top but dates back to the 11th century when a monastery stood there.It once stood in the middle of a huge forest but this is now submerged sometimes,at low tide,petrified tree stumps are seen. Scenes for one of the more recent Dracula movies were shot there.
