I left my camera pointing at my cactus for nearly a month because it decided to flower for the first more...time since I bought it five years ago. The idea was to make a time lapse video of it like my Time Lapse Amaryllis video. Unfortunately I really screwed up the photography so there's not going to be a video :'o(. The flower dies about 2 days after it opens (and drips copious amounts of nectar in that time - yum!), but I took a couple of still photographs of it when it was in full bloom. Here's the first.
Sorry about the very poor quality of the image - I'm not used to using digital stills cameras with auto-focus/auto-exposure/auto-aperture, I learned to take photographs with a camera that allows you to do all this manually, but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon.
