Sketched from life. Chain smoking and spouting wisdom, Douglas, my best friend's father, always enjoyed more...a good philosophical discussion. I drew this during a conversation with Doug at his home, on the wall behind him was an oil painting of an eagle that I always thought captured the spirit of the man. An interesting bit of trivia, Douglas was a friend and college roommate with actor Donald Sutherland. While roommates, both of them were pursuing an engineering degree. less
